Antartandes relata una de las epopeyas más significativas de la exploración sobre continente antártico: la primera expedición terrestre invernal que unió la Base Esperanza con la Base San Martín en la península antártica durante el año 1962, un acontecimiento por momentos ensombrecido por otros sucesos y por momentos olvidado. El proyecto presentaba diversos desafíos difíciles de concretar para la época, tales como iniciar una expedición en el invierno antártico que demandaría varios meses de marcha sobre continente y barrera de hielo, atravesar la cordillera Transantártica, arribar al destino habiendo recorrido más de 800 kilómetros y retornar por el mismo camino hasta el punto de origen. Antartandes recounts one of the most significant epics of exploration on the Antarctic continent: the first winter land expedition that linked the Esperanza Base with the San Martín Base on the Antarctic Peninsula in 1962, an event at times overshadowed by other events and at times forgotten. The project presented several challenges that were difficult to achieve at the time, such as starting an expedition in the Antarctic winter that would require several months of walking over the continent and the ice barrier, crossing the Transantarctic mountain range, arriving at the destination having traveled more than 800 kilometers and returning by the same route to the point of origin.
